Great project. Well documented, demonstrates a concept clearly in text, then much more clearly in action. A great fit for Etoys. I'd give it Science ranks too, if the cat were there.
Right now, it appears that there is a global variable and all turtles are actually just looking at the value. I wonder if we can eliminate that.
I made a remix of this and uploaded. Thank you Nevit for a cool project.
TU Yoshiki for remixing. I was unable to commit your suggestion, since I am novice in Kedama. Bu I was unable to find the rmx.
The concept was well explained and the user instruction was clear and concise. I like it.
I agree with cwithers. Everything is clear and concise. I liked the comparison between the behavior of bacteria to the behavior of social insects. Great example.
Simple, clear, concise. Good example.
I don't understand teefal's and yoshiki's comments about cats and turtles...I think the green "bloom" seems to happen at a pretty severe onset rate... That is, I am surprised I don't see little pockets come and go until finally enough of a "quorum" is achieved across the whole square. At a minimum, it would be neat to see the growth of the green blob happen more slowly. (If there was a way to detect the amount of green and "slow" down the simulation speed...)
Cat refers to category... Turtle is a computing concept. The gree bloom should happen rapidly. You can see the video in action on TED reference.
