Very very cool. I like this a lot. What are the extra squares on the bottom for?

Sean,

Sorry about that. This server tends to do this often. Please try it from here:

The link seems to be broken :(

gmanb5,

"Particles" in the Object Catalog is what it is.

This is fantastic! I will be using it with my middle school science students.

A question -- how did you get Kedama world.? I don't see it in the Object Catalog.

Thanks.

This is a really great ant simulation! The explanation in the "about" tab is great, and the program is intuitive to use.

Very well done. This is a great science project.

cwithers, the extra black squares are "patches" where you can store some data into and they are also serving a kind of watchers visually. (For example, when ants are dispersing pheromone, one of the patches show the pheromone concentration.

The colored and smaller squares are turtle breed objects, with which you construct scripts. Open the viewer of them and see scripts and variables there.

But this one is complicated enough so it needs some careful set up to show to people, IMO.

Yoshiki, this is great. Really, really showcases what Etoys can be used for.

Could you put a summary of your about flap into the project info description, show it shows on the website? Also, some visual clue as to what's the ant-hill and what's the food might make things more immediately obvious (just images in the project).

I know this project from your website. Nice to be included in showcase.

Very interesting. I still have to wrap my head around understanding the underlying stuff here.

Outstanding and absorbing.
